The College of Dentistry hosts the CTOC program where trainees will have the opportunity to participate in outstanding research in Inflammation/Immunity, Wound Healing, Cancer Biology, Chemical Senses, Psychoneuroimmunology, Microbial Pathogenesis, Biomaterials, Molecular Genetics, and other exciting areas.

The areas of neuroimmunology, neuroendocrinimmunology, neuroimmunomodulation, and psychoneuroimmunology were pioneered so that disciplines outside of classical immunology could design novel approaches to address specific hypotheses related to the neuro-endocrine-immune interrelationship. Thirteen scientists at The Ohio State University, trained in the classical disciplines of immunology, virology, endocrinology, psychology, neuroscience, and pharmacology, work together to conduct research in all four of these subdisciplines of immunology in an integrative manner. The overall goal of our training program is to encourage and support broad-based, early-stage training in integrative immunobiology using an institutional training grant mechanism. It is expected that our training program will enhance the knowledge base in basic and disease-related research. Research Day provides an opportunity for researchers in training at the OSU Medical Center to present their research in a public forum. This group includes trainees at all levels of programming, including graduate, undergraduate, medical and MD/PhD students, as well as postdoctoral fellows and researchers. Research Day also presents an opportunity for colleagues and visitors to learn about the cutting edge research occuring at Ohio State.
Over 30 posters representing a wide array of research topics are displayed throughout the day, with presenters on hand to discuss their projects and research findings with visitors and guests. Faculty judges review two or more poster presentations and make the final selections for the awards.
