The purpose of this study is to evaluate the interaction between biological markers of inflammation and stress in adults with chronic lung disease [Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or Pulmonary Fibrosis]. Participants will complete three assessments (including filling out questionnaires, providing blood samples, completing a 6-minute walk, and completing pulmonary function testing) over a 6-month period. For more information about this study please contact the Cardiopulmonary Behavioral Medicine Laboratory at 614-688-3895 (or stressstudies@osu.edu) or the OSU Pulmonary Clinical Trials Office at 614-293-4978.

Eligible participants in the SAW study will be adults between the ages of 55 and 85, who are experiencing stress. Participants should be in good health, but have no prior history of heart disease, or current uncontrolled blood pressure. Eligible participants will receive a free 12-week, 36-session supervised activity program at the OSU Center for Wellness and Prevention. Participants can receive up to $300 for completing four assessments during the course of the study. Coping and health among patients with end-stage pulmonary disease and primary caregivers

The purpose of the study is to examine how patients with end-stage pulmonary disease who are referred for lung transplantation adjust to the lung transplantation process over time. In addition, primary caregivers of patients with end-stage pulmonary disease are included in the study to document their adjust to the lung transplantation process and the effect of their adjustment on patient outcomes.  For more information about this study please contact Marquisha Green at 614-292-6527 or mailto:green.674@osu.edu
